Building on NEF’s biogas support in Kenya in 2025, the BRIGHT project will provide 475 solar home systems, expanding energy access in Sierra Leone.

In 2021, NEF supported energy-poverty relief in Milan, Italy, and co-funded in 2024 an 83.6 kWp community solar system in Baranzate, supplying clean energy to up to 80 households.
Dream Renewables
NEF backed clean-energy training (2021), solar irrigation pilots (2023), solarisation of five clinics (2025) and shared solar irrigation for 30 farms (2026) in Ghana.
Helios REF
Building on solar projects in Sri Lanka benefiting 1,000+ students and a residential care facility, NEF and Helios are extending their partnership to Nepal through new solar installations.
Lebanon
The project involves the installation of over 500 solar streetlights along 3.4 km, cutting accidents by an estimated 35%, boosting safety for 15,000 residents, and avoiding 360 tCO₂/year.
Mercy Hands Europe
NEF is bringing clean energy to northern Syria through solar power for a health centre and solar irrigation, benefiting 3,000 people and 700 farmers.
SolarAid
Since 2022, NEF has contributed to SolarAid’s Light a Village programme in Malawi, bringing clean energy to 8,813 households through an Energy-as-a-Service model.
SSCh
In 2024, NEF funded an 8 kWp solar system for the AMAN Women’s and Girls’ Centre in northwest Syria, benefiting 730 participants and 1,400 families.
