New Project: Albero della Vita

Date: 06/12/2022

In July 2021, NextEnergy Foundation embarked on a new partnership with Fondazione Albero della Vita (“FADV”) and fully funded the installation of eight solar systems (each 12.5kWp) on seven of FADV’s Learning Centres and their Farmer’s Resource Centre in the Sundarbans, India.

Following the success of this work, the NextEnergy Foundation is funding the installation of solar systems on the remainder of FADV’s Learning Centres. In total, 41 Centres will have first time access to renewable energy. The total direct beneficiaries will be 6,004 children and the indirect beneficiaries will be around 24,500 people.

Transforming FADV’s Centres will not only involve the physical installation of the solar systems, but also alter their ethos and governance structure towards the promotion of sustainable development. As part of the project, FADV will organise ‘education for sustainable development’ days in accordance with the Targets for SDG 13 (Climate Action).

An update on the project’s progress will be provided in the new Year.
